SPCast metadata API integration for radio.de and TuneIn

SPCast transmits station and track metadata to radio.de and TuneIn in real time. No delays, no polling. Updates are delivered event-driven and API-compliant as soon as they occur.

API documentation

How the transmission works

  • Real-time push instead of time-controlled queries
  • Event triggers for track, image, or show changes
  • API-compliant transmission via HTTPS
  • No queues due to cron jobs
  • Automatic retry logic when API is unavailable

Data flow

  1. Metadata update in stream (track, artist, cover, show, timestamp)
  2. Event is recorded in the SPCast system
  3. Validation and mapping to the target API format
  4. Immediate push to radio.de and TuneIn
  5. Response verification and logging for error handling

What does not happen

  • No user, IP, or tracking data
  • No cookies or profile assignment
  • No analytics or marketing parameters
  • No artificial update intervals

Error processing

Short-term API errors lead to automatic retries with a backoff strategy. Permanent errors are marked and made available for analysis in internal monitoring.

Sender setup

  1. Request API access at radio.de and TuneIn
  2. Link SCPast backend with API keys
  3. Trigger test title change
