SPCast Live Statistics and Data Protection

SPCast analyzes radio streams in real time without storing personal data, user profiles, or tracking.
All measurement data is used for stream quality, reach analysis, and system stability, not for identifying individual listeners.

Processing of technical metrics

The analysis is based on a scalable real-time pipeline. All values are processed as anonymous metric streams.

Zabbix → InfluxDB → Grafana

Collected, anonymous real-time values

  • Browser and operating system (not assignable to users)
  • Aggregated location data (country/region only, no IP assignment)
  • Map display of listener distribution in real time (anonymous, not traceable)
  • Device classes (mobile, desktop, smart devices, etc.)
  • Stream clients and player types
  • No fingerprints, no continuous device or user recognition.

After switching off the transmitter, the user and the device are completely anonymous again.

Data protection-compliant IP processing

  • IP addresses stored in raw format for a maximum of 72 hours for technical error analysis
  • After that, automatic masking to 192.111.111.xxx
  • No storage, no export, no log archive
  • No linking to devices, persons, or sessions

What SPCast processes

  • Active connections and simultaneous listener numbers
  • Connection quality, buffer times, disconnections (technical statistics)
  • Browser, OS, device class in aggregated form
  • Regional distribution as a heat map without personal references
  • Reach measurement without identifiable user characteristics

What SPCast does not do

  • No user profiles or recognition of individual listeners
  • No cookies, no marketing or tracking pixels
  • No fingerprinting, no user IDs, no account assignment
  • No logs, no log exports, no log archives
  • No data transfer to advertising or analytics networks

Historical data storage

SPCast only stores anonymized, aggregated time series metrics.
After 24 months, historical values are automatically overwritten. Personally identifiable data does not exist in the system at any time.

Public real-time statistics

The public live statistics show system performance, global listener numbers, regional distribution, and streaming metrics in real time,
without any references to individual persons or devices.

Internal dashboard for stream operators

Stream operators receive detailed insights into performance, devices, countries, players, and distribution maps in the Grafana dashboard.
All analyses remain anonymous, technically oriented, and without personal traceability.

Principle in brief

SPCast provides reach measurement, map visualization, device and browser insights, country statistics, and system analyses
without user tracking, without logs, without cookies, without profiles. Live metrics instead of user data storage.
