How to set up an encoder in RadioBOSS for your web radio

Learn how to easily set up an encoder in RadioBOSS to smoothly transmit broadcasts for your web radio. In this step-by-step guide, we will show you how to configure your RadioBOSS encoder.

Instructions for RadioBOSS encoder setup

Open RadioBOSS

Start RadioBOSS on your computer.

Call up encoder options

Navigate to the settings by clicking on “Options” at the top of the menu and then on “Program settings”. Finally, click on “Broadcast” on the left.

Adding a new encoder

Click on the “Plus” icon to set up a new encoder.

Select encoder type

Now click on “Wizard” in the encoder window and select the desired encoder type from the list of available options. RadioBOSS offers various options, including Shoutcast and Icecast. Both options are compatible with the standard moderator accounts in SPCast. For performance reasons, the Icecast encoder is recommended.

Configuration of the encoder

Enter the information required to set up the encoder. This includes the server IP address, port, user name and password. This information can be found directly in the SPCast product management.

Output listener numbers in RadioBOSS

SPCast offers a smooth integration with RadioBOSS and enables the easy output of listener numbers. Simply check the box for the “Get statistics from server” option and RadioBOSS will automatically display the current listener numbers. This feature is particularly notable because it also works seamlessly with moderator accounts within the SPCast environment, outperforming traditional methods.
